I will choose a selection of your delicate bouquet flowers, dry and press them onto wood slices from Vancouver Island, to create your unique piece of art: whether it is a large wood slice to hang on the wall, a table centrepiece, a hanging mobile, or a one-of-a-kind jewelry piece, your botanical work of art will be handmade and glazed with non-toxic resin.
After your beautiful wedding day I will arrange to pick up your bouquet from you in Tofino or Ucluelet. Please note I will only accept flowers within 2-4 days of your event, since florals press best when fresh. Depending on the size of your bouquet, you may be able to keep part of your bouquet to yourself.
I will select at least one of every flower or greenery in your bouquet for your designs, please note that not all flowers will make it through the drying process, therefore, the more flowers I dry the higher success rate of your flowers drying properly.
After pick up, please allow 12-16 weeks for drying, preservation and design.
Flowers are composed of organic matter and there is no guarantee of color and shape retention. Some flowers dry better than others. Florals will naturally change color while drying as well as over time in resin. Note that the color of the flowers may darken/fade during the drying process. For example, reds become a deep wine color, pinks darken, and whites may turn into a yellow/beige or slightly transparent. Please rest assured that I use multiple drying methods, specific to the flower type in order to optimize preservation and color retention. If your bouquet consists of only one type of flower and you’re concerned about their suitability, please contact me to discuss.
All my creations are made with love by my real human hands, therefore quirks are a possibility. Microbubbles between petals and greenery are a common occurrence when working with resin and natural items, I will do my very best to limit these imperfections.
Once your art piece is complete I will contact you and ship the parcel to you, return shipping fees are not included in the purchase price.
